Cool Schmool Biography
Cool Schmool is the songwriting project of Kaitie Hereford, joined by the amazing babes Jessica Sylvia on drums & Adria Ivanitsky on bass. After Kaitie had been drumming & playing bass for many bands in Portland, including Sexhair, Tender Age, Pinkslime & Sex Ghost, she decided to pick up a guitar & start writing her own songs before knowing how to play her instrument. Jessica (The Tactics, Moonbeam Kelly, The Seducers) & Adria (Bevelers, Melt, Lola Buzzkill) followed suit by learning drums & bass once they joined Cool Schmool. The result is a punk band brimming with dreamy energy, bratty pop & three part harmonies filled with sass & beauty. Often described as "the hardest working band in Portland", these grrrls are unstoppable, constantly playing shows in PDX & consistently touring. Queer femme dream punk is alive & well with Cool Schmool.
