Amanda Keeley Music Biography
Singer/songwriter Amanda Keeley and multi-instrumentalist Markus Lloyd began combining their musical styles in 2007 and haven't looked back since. Working toward pursuing a full-time career in music, Amanda and Markus are working on recording their first album.
Amanda was born in Toronto and from an early age showed huge musical ability. This promise was borne out by a "hot chocolate" voice, combining perfect pitch with haunting melody. Drawing on familial influences of country, folk, motown, R&B, as well as pop/rock, into her early teen years she began writing her own material, incorporating these myriad musical styles. More recently, Amanda has begun to develop her own instrument skills and is now a talented guitarist & percussionist in her own right.
Local man to Ottawa, Markus Lloyd has been playing guitar for almost two decades. He has toured extensively throughout Ireland, South East Asia and Australia honing his craft fusing his musical styles with his fellow musicians on his travels. His major musical influences are eclectic in range, veering from folk, modern/classic rock to traditional Irish music. More recently, Markus has added the piano/keyboard and mandolin to his instrumental repertoire.
Amanda Keeley Music was created as a platform to showcase the combined creative projects from Amanda Keeley's solo performances to the Amanda Keeley Duo, Trio and 5 piece band. The additional members assist in creating diversity in repertoire and venues. This talented group of musicians have proudly participated in various local charity events, performances to aid in raising funds for cancer and the benefit of children in third world countries.
Amanda Keeley also co-hosts the weekly ‘Live Open Jam’ at the Keystorm Pub in Brockville every Wednesday evening from 8-11pm, bringing the community together through music while connecting with local musicians to help foster a flourishing live music scene.
