Vase Vide Biography

Vase Vide is a Colorado Spring based art-rock quartet founded in 2016 by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Daniel Oglesby. Taking influence from Experimental, Neo-Psychedelia, and Alternative Rock the quartet delivers a synthesizer-heavy dream-pop sound. Drummer Alex Rich drives the band’s sound through his development of pulsating rhythms backed by the low-end groove of bass player Korey Wilkinson. Oglesby’s haunting vocal style drives the story told by the guitar and synth layers created by he and Dave Gashaw.

Kate Perdoni of Rocky Mountain PBS on Vase Vide’s The Colors of Entropy [EP]:
“Colorado Springs has its own Wayne Coyne: multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Daniel Oglesby, who (alongside Dave Gashaw, Korey Wilkinson and Alex Rich), created five-song EP “Colors of Entropy” at Right Heel Music Studios. The collection of songs begins with a smattering of cosmic sounds that crescendo into a whirl of bells, electric wah, and transcendently smooth vocals. It’s a beautiful blend of pop and indie rock; a combustible, jubilant terrain somewhere between Explosions in the Sky and the Flaming Lips. The standout “Leonardo Bonacci” moves contemplative, intentional lyrics against a background of complexly layered interstellar instrumentation. The metaphysical mood continues with a segue into synth waves highlighted by stirring guitar bits echoing Built to Spill. The Shins-esque “The Near-Death Experience” closes this 18-minute artistic journey. It’s a gorgeous, unified compilation of thoughtful, inquisitive reverie deserving of continual repeat.”
