About this concert
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Jacnique Nina (pronounced zha-NEEK Nee-Nuh) spent many years striving to arrive as a woman who fluently speaks music’s loving tongue, offering deliciously and delectably profound statements on life and love. Such immaculate offerings await on Tuesday, October 24, when Jacnique premiers the entirety of her forthcoming album, Wish of the Heart, LIVE before a captivated audience. Wish of the Heart, Jacnique’s 3rd album, was produced by prolific songwriter Preston Glass who has conjured bliss and magic for the finest of female singers, including Natalie Cole, Phyllis Hyman, Whitney Houston and Deniece Williams. Among the highlights of Jacnique’s new disc is a very special 30th anniversary vocal version of Kenny G’s international instrumental gem “Songbird,” produced by Glass. The master songsmith added an evocative new lyric sung as a duet between Jacnique and Philip Ingram, lead singer `70s soul group Switch, who will join Jacnique on stage at Catalina’s exclusively for this event. Newly re-titled “Songbird 2017,” this instant classic will be available on Wish of the Heart in ballad form as well as a gently grooving U.K. Dance Club Mix. Adored among longtime fans for her warm, singular original material that speaks to love as a rejuvenating force of romance, sensuality, hope and eternal happiness, Jacnique dazzles with new songs such as “Wish of the Heart,” “Weapons of Love,” “Blue `Til You,” “Soul Candy” (a duet w/ newcomer Brandon Wattz) and “The Bright Side of Goodbye.” An unforgettable evening of love music is guaranteed when Jacnique takes Catalina’s world famous stage to guide all in attendance on a sublimely navigated journey through the heart and mind of a jazzy, soulful lady who puts LOVE first in all areas: love of self, love of her man, love of man and womankind, and love for The Creator. Be among the first to hear Jacnique Nina’s Wish of the Heart, at Catalina Bar & Grill on Sunset in Hollywood – Tuesday, October 24. It promises to be THE album to warm hearts this fall, winter and forever. Jacnique’s mesmerizing vibe of jazzy, soul-samba-kissed, blues-tinged sounds is sharply defined in three words: enriching, essential, timeless.
