Join five exceptional musicians for an evening at Schumann’s house (with excursions outside – Prokofiev’s sonata was written in France in 1932). This is chamber music tradition at its highest: music played at home among friends for the pleasure of exchanging musical ideas. Here Schumann’s imagination takes wings from his fantasy pieces for cello and piano full of Romantic outbursts to his magnificent Piano Quintet, perhaps the best piano quintet ever written.

R. Schumann - Fantasiestücke, Op. 73 for cello and piano
A. Dvorak - Terzetto Op. 74 for two violins and viola
S. Prokofiev - Sonata for two violins
R. Schumann - Piano Quintet in E flat major, Op. 44
