HeDLesS Biography

I was born August 2, 1984. Lived in Lyman, SC til i was 6, then moved to Inman, SC. I never really liked it in Inman, but i had no choice. When i lived in Lyman, i went to school at Lyman Elementary, and loved it, i had friends there. When we moved, i started going to Inman Elementary, where i got picked on constantly. It really never stopped, when i was at school, but when i came home, life was awesome. i had a great home life. I think getting picked on so much in school, from 2nd grade til 12th, caused me to be the way i am today. I started recording music in 9th grade, my first song was called "run away" and i recorded it using a keyboard, and microsoft sound recorder... needless to say, it wasnt good... but i kept trying... in 10th grade, i had recorded a cd, called "Did i hit a nerve" and i called myself KRUM. Pretty much all of the songs were me feeling sorry for myself. My major influence then was Korn, and most of their songs at the time were about Jonathan Davis being called gay, or his neighbor molesting him... so my music style was similar to that, except i used a keyboard... On my 2nd cd as KRUM, i had songs called "Alone" "Stabbed" and "Sorry" both were songs still feeling sorry for myself... Stabbed, was about me getting stabbed in the back of the head in class one time, and i actually stood up for myself that time.

Later in the 2nd semester of 10th grade, i started listening to ICP, and decided to stop feeling sorry for myself, and start making songs that were kind of "revenge" of sorts, on the people who had made me feel the way i did. I changed my name to HeDLesS, and I did a song called "suck my nuts" in which i named off a bunch of people who had picked on me, and made me feel worthless... and after each name i just said ______ can suck my nuts... LOL it was pretty much just something to laugh at... because ICP made some funny songs. I recorded 3 cd's in this style "Wish you were here", "Fall" and "Life til Death" , i went to an ICP concert in 2001, had all the face paint on and stuff, i also had bought a hearse to fix up and drive...

i went to this thing called "the judgement house" and got saved in 2001... then started listening to more mainstream rap, and came out with the cd "Platinum Stains" i honestly cant remember any of the songs that were on that cd, because it has been lost over the years. After that, i quit focusing on my own music for a while and helped out a few of my friends who i met at church, "The Unknown Criminal", "DJ Hootie aka Navigator", and recorded some songs for my sister's group, "Wasabi's Angels" i took a couple years off... in this time i met a girl, and started dating her, her name was Crystal... we broke up after i turned 18 though...

In 2003 i started recording my own music again, when my friend Travis suggested i do a country sounding rap song, that talks about South Carolina... so i did a song called "Carolina Boyz" with Navigator... and that got me back into recording music again... i did a full cd that year called "Westside til I'm 30" which I'm not even sure why it was called that, im not really westside... of anything... lol but yeah... in 2003, i got really big into CRUNK music, when lil jon came out with "Get Low"... and i was driving a 2002 Dodge Neon, that i had put a lot of money into, with rims, tv's, sound system, one of the guys i went to school with, who didnt like me very much, had won the lottery, and put 25,000 into a honda civic for some reason, and i put my neon in a car show, and they parked us side by side, my system was louder than his, even though his looked cooler, i still beat him in the sound competition, that kinda made my day :D anyway back to music... I started hanging out with the wrong people at work, and they would tell me stories about crimes they had committed, and people they know who had done bad things, and it inspired me to sorta start doing "gangsta rap" i recorded a song called "Gon Getcha" i guess you could say it was my first "hit" because everyone who heard it, loved it... That song, took my music in a new direction with start of the cd "Robbin Hoodz" i had done a lot of Networking with people on Soundclick.com, and had gotten a lot of collab opportunites, there is a song on there with David Banner, called "Tear it Up" that song, along with "Gon Getcha (lil jon remix)" stayed at #1 on soundclick for several weeks. It was a great feeling!

In February 2004, coming home from work, i totalled my dodge neon when i hit a rock wall and flipped it a few times in the road... I landed on my drivers side door, I could have died, but i came out unhurt, I was in shock though right after it happened. I changed jobs, and finished up the "Robbin Hoodz" cd in 2004, everyone i worked with was digging the new cd. So i promoted it a while, and started working on another cd at the end of 2004, i did a lot of remixes, and things, of songs like young buck's "Shorty wanna Ride" and Dem Franchise boys "White Tee" i said the N word in several songs, but i guess some people didnt hear those songs... so, i started getting dissed by everyone i had been doing songs with on the "Robbin Hoodz" cd, because of it... i came out with a lot of diss tracks back, and put them on a Double CD called "Run on em/Blast on em"

One Night i was riding in my friends truck, and he decided to go to his girlfriends house, and i just waited in the truck, Brad Paisley's cd "Mud on the tires" was in the cd player, and the song "is it raining at your house?" came on, and it made me sad, because i had missed my ex gf Crystal, because after she broke up with me in 2002, she had pretty much screwed up her life, and i missed her... she was the only real girlfriend i had ever had at this time, so i made a deal with the people who were dissing me, that if i could get her back, i would quit rapping... i knew where she was living, and i drove by there one time, and she was sitting on the porch, she was in a horrible relationship, and i could tell, just seeing how sad she looked, i waved at her, and she looked at me like why are you here, her boyfriend saw me and started walking towards me, i felt like i was there to try to save her from him... a few days later on her birthday, i called her dads house, and told him to tell her happy birthday for me, he did, and she left her boyfriend, and moved back home to her dad's... i was going to walmart, and ran into her dad and stepmom in there, and they told me they had a surprise, so i followed them to their house, and she was there... it was awesome to see her again, after 2 years. We hung out once, and then i didnt hear from her for a couple weeks, she had got with someone else... Her Aunt who used to come to my church died, and my church did her funeral, i saw her again there, and we started hanging out again, and then started dating again. She was working and had a decent job by that time, one day when she was at my house, she said she was going to go help cut grass with a co worker and he was going to pay her, he picked her up from my house, and they left... and she came back a couple hours later with $40. i didnt think anything of it. A couple weeks later we got into an argument over the custody of her daughter that she had lost custody a year or so earlier, and she told me that she cheated on me with that guy who gave her the $40... i couldnt believe it... but i told her i still loved her, and wanted to stay together... she broke up with me the next day...

i did a few songs here and there, i started a band called "tophe" after that, and it was pretty much all violent lyrics, pissed off stuff... about killing and stuff... recorded a song called "cheated" i guess you know what that was about... i was in and out of music for a while, dating different girls, started dating a girl named Kim in 2005, broke up with her the same week, because i was 21 and she was 16, and she didnt want to tell her mom how old i was, she settled on telling her that i was 19... and i was ok with that i guess, so we started dating again... we dated on and off for a year, in that time i started a band with a few people from Duncan, SC called "That Fateful Day" but changed the name to "A World on Fire" did 6 or 7 songs... but never did any shows or really put out a cd... i quit the band when i saw kim talking to the bassist in my band on myspace about me, she had a thing for gingers then, and it pissed me off... i could talk endlessly about this relationship, but i wont...

Skip ahead 2 years, in 2007, i became straight edge, and was big into SXE hardcore, and i would go to shows, at least 2 times a week, i stayed in the scene for a year... at the end of 2007, my cousin Blake who was 13, and had been a fan of my cd "Robbin Hoodz" kept telling me i should start rapping again... Him and his cousin and friend, wanted to start a rap group and wanted to know if i would record them.. i did, and i was like i'll record you, but im not gonna start rapping again... i was wrong...

In 2008, i started recording as HeDLesS again, with the cd "That White Boy" and in the summer of 2008 i did my first legit show as HeDLesS, at Ground Zero, i also started dating a girl named amanda, aka Mandy B, who recorded several songs with me on a few of my albums. In early 2008 i started working on a cd which didnt have a name, when it was finished, Navigator was the one to name it, ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT. I had bought all new recording equipment, and software, and finally got Autotune... so i started recording songs where i was singing, and recorded an ep for Mandy B, i had a beat called "beautiful day" that mandy b was supposed to record a song to, but we were both clueless on how we were going to approach the song... me and Mandy B broke up in december of 2008, and she didnt record anymore songs, that beat sat for 9 months on my computer, til one day after i did a huge 2 day show at ground zero, called Burn Fest, Jubbyfuk wanted to collaborate on a song, and i went through my beats, and came across that one, and i was just messing with it, and turned the pitch down to where the voice of the girl sounded different, and added a sample of a breakdown i had sitting on my computer that someone gave me... and the only thing i could think to do with it then, was scream over the chorus that was already there... so i did... and it was amazing... Jubbyfuk Loved the song, and sent me back a verse recorded and within a couple days, and i had posted on myspace asking if anyone else wanted to collab on this song, and Kobrah hit me up, so i sent it to him, and the song was finished within 3 days...

that was the first song i decided to put on a new cd, i just remastered some of the best songs from the last cd... i called that cd OUTCAST, because i had never heard of anyone screaming in rap songs before, and i felt like i was going to be an Outcast... People loved Beautiful Day so much, that i had people telling me, "I CANT FIND YOU ON ITUNES!!" So that's when i decided to put my music on itunes... I started with Outcast, beautiful day, opened up doors to bigger collabs with more famous people, in the "crunkcore" genre, which i didnt even know existed when i recorded it... Jayreck from Dot Dot Curve messaged me on myspace one day saying he loved Beautiful day, and i asked him if he wanted to be on the remix i had planned on doing of it, he said he was just about to ask that... so i sent the instrumental to him, months later, i get a text from Spanky from DDC, saying they just finished up the remix, it kinda threw me off, because Jayreck completely redid the beat, and took me out of it, and they did their own version of it, which pissed me off... but spanky sent me the remade beat, and i added my vocals back to it, and put it up on itunes myself, so it was all good. Later in 2009 i recorded an ep, i just called N!664, that featured a song i had been working on called "I got it goin on" i sent it to spanky and he loved it, and he did a verse to it, along with Austin Acyd. JJ Demon contacted me about a collab later, and i sent him a beat i had been working on and hadnt really done anything with, he did a verse and sent it to spanky and he did a verse, and they sent it back to me, and i recorded my verse... it stilll didnt have a name, but it had a chorus, which i didnt even mean for that to be the actual chorus, that was just something that i had stuck in there to take up space... lol but JJ Demon named the song "birdies in the whiddip"

During that time i was dating a girl named Megan... we dated for a month, and she completely screwed my brain into falling in love hard for her... somehow... she was a bitch... sometimes... idk what it was... but anyway, we broke up, and talked on and off for months, she is in the song "Re:Mains" that i recorded in 2010, which i couldnt figure out a name for... so i had a contest on fb, whoever wants to name it, tell me something and i'll pick the best, and you get the song free if you name it... so this girl said Remains, i just put the colon in there to look cool... i thought it was a perfect song title for it... so i used it... Austin Acyd gave me an idea for an anti suicide song he wanted me to do, so i ran with it, he gave me a beat too, but i couldnt use it, so i did one of my own, and it became the song "Taking everything Away" which is still one of my favorite songs ive ever written.

in 2011, i approached a LOT of different people for collabs for my cd that took a LONG time to finish called "Is Crunk" there were i believe 18 features on that cd... including Dropping a Popped Locket, Pants Party, JJ Demon, Melody Joy, Sonic, Lessthan3, Koly from THR, BK, Killa Kami, Tank, Toxicskymeltdown, Monster Afterparty, BrandonBURN and more... it was one of my biggest production albums so far...

later in 2011 i formed a group with a few people from Startex, called IDB, we did shows around the state, also opened up for Young Buck and Lil Wyte, in Memphis TN, that was an awesome trip.
In 2012, i put out a cd called "Field of Crushed Dreams" which didnt really sell to many copies, it had songs like "Whyam", it was kinda thrown together pretty quick, i didnt take much time on it, and really didnt promote it very well... right after it came out, i started recording songs for a NEW CD, which hasnt really been finished yet, i performed some of the songs from it, at Wavy Day 2012, in Cleveland Ohio.

Since then, i have been dating my current girlfriend, that i love VERY much, Samantha :D i dont see that changing ever again.
