The 45s Biography
45s were a group that consisted of brothers Matt Hales and Ben Hales, along with Stephen Cousins and Matt Vincent-Brown which had originally performed under the name of Ruth.
They were signed to Mercury Records in 2001 with two single deal which was satisfied with "Something Real" and "Waiting for my Heart to Break". They performed mini-tours of small venues in support of both albums in 2002, but with slow sales they could not get an album deal from the record company (although an album was recorded and available from their website and eli.com). The band split, and shortly afterwards Ben and Matt formed the group Aqualung after the success of the song "Strange & Beautiful", written for a Volkswagon ad.
