Distartica Biography
Distartica was founded in Houston, TX in 2008. Founding members include Carlos Caceres, Alex Paxtor, and Carlos Vasquez. Maintaining jobs and going to school, the band saw limited activity until 2013 when they began to gain momentum in the local scene.
Despite dealing with personal duties and responsibilities, the band decided to begin writing their first album. The band recorded and self-produced their album that would be completed and released in 2017. The album was unleashed to the world on April 14 of that year. The band saw another lineup change with the addition of Hector Animal-Perez on bass.
In Flames We Rise was the band’s ticket to recognition in the metal scene. The band embarked on a Central American tour and was featured in an Apple Commercial. The album received positive reviews in metal sites such as Metalrules.com. The band attracted Apple as a result of founding member Carlos Vasquez being visually impaired and using their mobile products to heavily promote the band.
