Nadus Biography

When it comes to Jersey club, Nadus is one of its most creative architects and steadfast ambassadors. Born Rahshon Bright and raised in the city of Newark, Nadus realized long ago that even though his hometown was once plagued with poverty and violence, it was also rich in a groundbreaking, hip-shaking culture that was meant to be shared with the world. Exposed to the hyperactive sound of Jersey club music around the age of 12, Nadus became a producer, DJ, and party promoter by the time he was in high school by working closely with DJ Jayhood and the infamous Brick Bandits crew. His talent for bringing people together under one roof in the name of club music came in handy when he co-founded Thread, once a wild, Jersey-based party and now a focused imprint with goals of going global. Producing Jersey club was one of Nadus’ first passions and while Newark’s signature sound still sees heavy representation during his live sets, it’s his thorough exploration of the genre’s roots and derivatives that has given his own music a worldwide appeal. From the frenetic footwork of the legendary Chicago-based crew, Teklife, or the intimate club bangers of Belgian label, Pelican Fly, Nadus avoids being pigeonholed into one genre by pulling influence from every corner of the world. It's this global state of mind that has allowed Nadus to share the stage with forward-thinking artists like Just Blaze, Rustie, and Nina Las Vegas, to name a few. Just like Jersey club was born from Baltimore club and Chicago ghetto house, Nadus is proudly a product of his own environment, specifically the Newark Boys Chorus School, where he first began his music training. To generously give back to his community and the organizations that inspired him, Nadus contributed the earnings from Broke City, his latest release on Pelican Fly, to the Newark Boys Chorus School in an effort to keep kids off the streets and give them an outlet to be creative. Between an unrivaled work ethic in the studio, sheer talent behind the decks, and a continuing philanthropic effort, Nadus clearly stands out amongst the rest. Twitter.com/nadus
