We present two young bands who are making waves on the UK's burgeoning contemporary jazz scene:

Tobie Carpenter Trio

Tobie's group presents a modern twist on this classic jazz combo. The Organ Trio's debut EP DEAD PAN PARTY was released March 2017 on Turquoise Coconut Records, reaching No.1 in the iTunes Jazz Album Chart. The release was marked with a five date UK tour including a sold out launch gig at Kansas Smitty's (London) and Birmingham Symphony Hall.

A very exciting group a retro feel with a modern twist. (Tony Dudley-Evans Cheltenham Jazz Festival)

Tobie Carpenter - guitar
Jamie Safir - organ
David Ingamells - drums

Samuel Eagles Band

Samuel Eagles received critical acclaim for his recent album Ask, Seek, Knock (Whirlwind Recordings, 2017). We're delighted to welcome Samuel for his Jazz Nursery debut, where his all-star quintet will present his much-hyped brand of intense and exciting contemporary jazz.

A work, then, that pulses with meaning, taking the active listener deeper and higher
The London Evening Standard ★★★★ UK

Samuel Eagles - alto saxophone
Duncan Eagles - tenor saxophone
Ralph Wyld - vibraphone
Sam Leak - piano
Max Luthert - double bass
David Ingamells - drums
