Heals Biography

Heals is a Bandung-based Alternative Rock / Shoegaze / NuGaze group consists of Alyuadi Febryansyah (guitar, vocal), Reza Arinal (guitar, vocal), Muhammad Ramdhan (guitar), Octavia Variana (bass, vocal), and Adi Reza (drum). Their performance and creation are identical with layers of distorted guitar riffs, unique sounds, effects, and streams of soft yet melodious vocal, influenced by bands from Amusement Parks On Fire, My Vitriol, Cocteau Twins, The Depreciation Guild, to Tokyo Shoegazer.

Although the band was formed in 2013, the five of them have been close friends long before they joined forces as Heals. Prior to the formation of Heals, none of the members have been involved in a shoegaze/alternative band as they were active members of the grindcore, metal, and punk rock communities back then. In 2014, their first single, "Void", was uploaded digitally and immediately greeted by critical acclaims throughout the country. Then in 2015, Heals landed themselves a record deal with FFWD Records, Bandung-based record label, and released B-sides in cassette format a year later at Record Store Day 2016 which included two songs; ‘Wave’ and ‘Myselves’.

2017 is an important year for Heals as they finally released their debut full album, entitled 'Spectrum', on April 9th, containing 10 tracks about their perspective and imagination toward human lives on daily basis. They also marked their first international journey by performing at Rocking The Region, Singapore on March 25th-26th and completed their first domestic tour dubbed 'Spectrum Java-Bali Tour' from April to May.
