Perpetual Process Biography

Perpetual Process is a music project created by Ralph Klisiewicz. Perpetual Process is a blend of exotic electronic sounds, lush guitars, organic sounding drums, and simple, yet highly charismatic, vocals.
Ralph’s musical education started rather late. While in his freshman year of college, he picked up his first piano lessons. He continued with private piano lessons for about 3 years, and then later supplemented his musical education with guitar lessons.
Ralph had always been particularly fascinated by the synthesizer and its unparalleled ability to manipulate sounds. His first synthesizer was the Yamaha DX7, followed by a few others like the Korg Prophecy, and an EMU sampler. He began spending as much time tinkering with sound editing on the synthesizers and the sampler. Eventually, Ralph joined a few college bands where he played the keyboard, however, none of the bands made it beyond performing at college parties and bars. In addition, Ralph was getting frustrated by the limitations of the equipment available to musicians on a low budget in the mid 90s. Consequently, Ralph abandoned music altogether for about 10 years.
One day, by accident, Ralph stumbled upon a YouTube video for Propellerhead Reason. At the time, he was not aware of the musical plugin revolution taking place. He purchased the product thinking this would be a good creative outlet but eventually became addicted to digital recording.
“Make it Easy” is a result of Ralph’s awakened inspiration towards music, which was fueled by the emergence of readily available digital music production tools. Early in the production process, Ralph met Sarah Holtschlag, a Chicago based blue-grass singer. Sarah is the featured vocalist on “Make it Easy”. Her warm and charming vocal style was a perfect match for the emotionally saturated electronica of Perpetual Process. She performs in 6 of the songs on the album.
