About this concert
KATE PRIESTLEY: The brilliant creative force known as Kate Priestley is a wonder of a woman. A veteran of the music scene, she's known here in Austin, in the US, and internationally for her get-down band, KP and the Boom Boom, as well as her impressive solo work. Her music is soulful and funky with jazz sensibilities, and her writing is conscious, addressing love and broader social concerns. If you love Esperanza Spalding, you'll love Kate. She has a wonderful, shimmering presence and I know you'll really enjoy getting to know her and her music! You can find her work here: http://kpbbmusic.com/#music BLUMOON BluMoon, led by the ineffable Kendra Sells, is an incredibly gifted experimental jazz band from TSU, San Marcos. My son Noah, who's always out on the forefront of he music scene scouting for new bands, turned me on to this band a month ago. I saw their video and heard what they were doing - omg Kendra's voice! I instantly knew I wanted to see them in person! Absolutely brilliant! Here's the link to their Bandcamp page...behold!! :) https://blumoon.bandcamp.com/ I really hope you'll be able to join us! BLUMOON Biography
This fresh band began in February 2017 and is comprised of life-long musician Kendra Sells (Vocals), Taylor Louis (Keys, Synthesizer), Andrew Harkey (Bass) and Austin Kinney (Drums). Sweet and raspy vocals dance along retro synthesizers, pulling your soul throughout time and space. Mellow days in San Marcos, Texas brought the alternative R&B/soul group to grind together on their first album, Decisions Decisions released in May 2017. Since then, the group has performed at several venues and house shows in their home town and other areas across Texas and southwest.
