KATE PRIESTLEY: The brilliant creative force known as Kate Priestley is a wonder of a woman. A veteran of the music scene, she's known here in Austin, in the US, and internationally for her get-down band, KP and the Boom Boom, as well as her impressive solo work. Her music is soulful and funky with jazz sensibilities, and her writing is conscious, addressing love and broader social concerns. If you love Esperanza Spalding, you'll love Kate. My son Noah, who's always out on the forefront of he music scene scouting for new bands, turned me on to this band a month ago. I saw their video and heard what they were doing - omg Kendra's voice!
