The end result being a punchy rock assault with a stoner edge, a punter at The Tote ( Melbourne )recently saying ‘if Red Fang and Clutch lived in Fitzroy for 6 months and got addicted to meth and formed a band they would sound like The Balls’.Spending the best part of the last year and a half demoing songs and playing live as much as possible the boys decided to lock themselves away at “The Raj” and begin the recording process, the resulting product being the 6 track ep “Skeleton Creek”, recorded and mixed by the band themselves.Whether you’re into that slow burning, hazy sound or a faster heavier more intense variety, The Balls self titled EP provides off the wall textures and sticky potent punk inspired sounds that leave listeners with busted ear drums and bloodshot eyes.BLACK BURNED BLIMP​Opgericht eind 2014 en klinkend als een speed freakend monster op bezoek in Disneyworld,combineert Black Burned Blimp experimentele rock (+een vleugje punk) met de zware sound van stoner en maken het af met hier en daar wat psychedelica. De band bestaat uit Eric Broers (zang en gitaar), Arjan Broers (drums), Michaël van der Meer (gitaar en toetsen) en Jurjen van Wingerden (bas).Sommige mensen zullen Eric en Arjan misschien kennen van de overleden punkband The Fart Farmers en overleden electro rockband Polar Veranda. Daarnaast is Eric ook nog actief geweest bij de industrial rockband Fruit of the Original Sin. En heeft Arjan gedrumd bij de hardcore-punk band Point At Others. Michael is al jarenlang gitarist bij de blackmetal band Grift en actief bij projecten als Nevelrijk, Smoke en Gestalte.8 april 2016 is hun debut EP uitgekomen en na een aantal zeer geslaagde optredens (met o.a. The Helldozers (DU), Nightstalker (GR), Lifelong, De Grote Boodschap, Achterdochtig en Hippy Tree Friends Collective) is de band zeer gretig op zoek naar nieuwe optredens.Er wordt ondertussen druk geschreven aan een full-length album en er zijn zelfs al plannen vooreen thema EP.Deze band wil maar een ding; de muziek aan zoveel mogelijk mensen ten gehore brengen, door zoveel mogelijk op te treden en uit te brengen.Black Burned Blimp is niet je standaard stonerrock band. Hoewel de basis vrij stoner georiënteerd is, wordt deze zeer beïnvloed door pop-achtige akkoorden, die op hun beurt weer aangevuld worden door psychedelische synth soundsen af en toe bijna punk tempo drums.Als je bands als Kyuss, Fu Manchu, At the Drive-In, Sungrazer, Faith No More, Radiohead, The Nerve Agents, Queens of the Stone Age en Nirvana op een of ander ziekelijke wijze een kind zou laten verwekken, deze een toontje lager laten zingen, dan zou dat kind Black Burned Blimp heten. Black Burned Blimp staat garant voor een energieke live show gevuld met bier, humor en zweet.Of je nou los wil gaan op de snoeiharde beuk van BBB, uit volle borst mee wil zingen of gewoon lekker met een pilsje in de hand het laag gestemde ziekelijke kind wil bewonderen.
