Asta Wylie Biography

Asta Wylie is a young artist from the Pacific Northwest who has criss-crossed the United States fine-tuning her sound, songwriting, and artistic vision. Her life experiences are reflected in her lyric-driven songs, catchy melodies, and gritty instrumentals. She is a girl-power artist bringing a poignant and vulnerable honesty to our current conversations about finding belonging, love, and meaning at a time when social norms are changing and we are feeling increasingly isolated, but still longing for meaningful connection.

Wylie understands the power music has to help people cope with strong emotions and turbulent times and admits that she has leaned on music throughout her life to process raw emotions. She sincerely hopes her music helps people express and process their feelings, rather than suppress them. "My goal is to show the strength and power we gain from vulnerability.”

Wylie’s sound defies categorization but reflects the many genres she has loved and absorbed, including country, Americana, pop, and soul. She loves the richness of real instruments and the vulnerability of the human voice.

Highlights of Wylie's budding career include her first single “Hit & Run,” which was on rotation on several radio stations, and being named Songwriter of the Year at the 2019 NYC IMTA competition. Wylie has also been recognized by some of Nashville's top talent as “one to watch.”

Asta recently wrote and recorded the song “Sweet Killer” for the movie Friday the 13th: Vengeance (release date September 13, 2019) and is currently in the studio working on a full length album set to be released in early 2020.
