Bobby Messano Biography

Bobby Messano is a legendary guitarist, producer and contemporary blues artist who has released nine solo CDs, placed songs in many TV and cable shows and played on over 70 major label and indie albums. His music has been heard on everything from MTV jingles to Benny Mardones' smash hit, "Into The Night". The celebrated guitarist has played on records by Clarence Clemmons, Franke & The Knockouts, Joe Lynn Turner, and STARZ. His songs are heard daily on "Sirius/XM's B.B. King's Bluesville." His 2015 album, Love & Money, was nominated for a prestigious Blues Blast Award for "Best Rock-Blues Album" in August 2015. It debuted on the Billboard Blues Chart at #7, peaked at #1, and spent a total of nine weeks in the Top 10. It was also #7 on the Billboard Heat Seekers Chart and Top 40 on both the Billboard Rock and Indie Charts. Love & Money also ended 2015 at #44 on the Roots Music Report Chart.

Bobby's album, BAD MOVIE was released on April 15, 2017 and debuted at #1 on Sirius/XM BB King's Bluesville and stayed in the Top 20 on SIX Roots Music Reports charts for months. It is a collection of 15 incredible songs written with major co-writers Jon Tiven, Larry Weiss, and Steve Kalinich, and features the amazing "Come To Your Senses" written by Queen founder Brian May and Jon Tiven, and the haunting duet "Water Under The Bridge" with Bobby and Alecia Elliott (2001 AMA Nominee). BAD MOVIE was a unique perspective of personal traumas and a country in a state of flux and the reviews have been outstanding.

For LEMONADE, Messano's ninth studio album, Bobby joined forces with Bob Malone (John Fogerty), Doug Belote (Eric Clapton), and the late Carl Dufrene, Jr. (North Mississippi Allstars). The album was inspired by trying to balance personal relations in a complicated, ever-changing industry. Lemonade was released on July 12th, 2019 via Fishhead/WMG Records.

THE SONGS I NEVER SANG (THE COVID SESSIONS) was released on January 29th 2021 on all digital platforms. The Project is a labor of love for Bobby. It is a collection of 11 songs that he has loved in his life but never recorded.

Bobby’s project, “MUSIC & OTHER SUNDRIES” was released on VINYL on April 15th 2022 and was released to iTunes and Digital stations on August 1st. The album was again Produced by Geoff Wilbourn and Bobby, the team that created the Billboard Blues #1 CD “LOVE & MONEY” in 2015. It features a stellar cast of acclaimed and award-winning musicians: Kirby Barber-Bass (Award winning Canadian bassist) Brad Clancy- Drums (David Ball, Confederate Railroad) Kinny Landrum-Keys (Robert Palmer, Alain Toussaint, Benny Mardones, Twin Peaks) David Northrup-Drums (Travis Tritt, Boz Scaggs) and on vocals the Famous trio of Tracy Nelson, Diane Davidson and Vickie Carrico.

John 'blueshammer' Hammer : (KOWZ)
Bobby's music speaks for itself. What sets great new music apart from very good new music is a familiarity that speaks to the soul. You got that goin' on. I am really diggin' the new CD. Keep rockin' da house my friend!
Richard Flynn (TOWER RECORDS):I gotta tell you - you just made my weekend...Not even sure what to say...easy to say you deserve it but you are one of the hardest working cats out there.... Nice to see good things for good people...

Clair DeLune: (WUSC) Bobby, I reviewed your CD for airplay on Blues Moon Radio - and you will appear on it tonight... I absolutely LOVE the CD, your voice and your style! So glad we got in touch via FB.

Reb Beach (WHITESNAKE) "Bobby has been my mentor since I was 19 years old...and he taught me how to play the blues." His playing has been a great inspiration to me through the years, and I am so happy that he has made such a fantastic record. This one is not to be missed. The record is filled with great songs, and spot on, heartfelt playing from a little known master of the electric blues guitar."
Wow! Love Love Love your record!!!! Bravo Bobby!!

Gabby Parsons:(105.5 TRIPLE M) Bobby Messano plays with passion and flair. He's the real deal. Galoris Brownley
You are one of the greatest guitarists I've seen live. Considering I've seen Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Joe W...alsh, to name just a few. When i heard "Get Up & Dance With The Blues" on "Live In Madison" I actually got up and danced. Felt like I was there! It was such a treat to see you very talented musicians at JM Randall's on Saturday. You, Bobby, Steve and Felipe were outstanding! Listened to "That's Why I Don't Sing the Blues" on my ride home and it is FABULOUS!
Charlie Richards: If I didn't know better, I would say it was Bobby Messano and not Jimmy Vaughn that taught Stevie Ray Vaughn how to play guitar and the blues! Bobby you rock!?

Hal Francis:
Bobby, I had to drop you a note after the concert at the BBC tonight and before I go to bed. I meant every word I said about your show tonight and what I said came straight from my heart. I would love to stay in touch and if possible get a chance to see you perform again. As I said, this was the best concert I have ever attended and I have seen many being 62 years old. Thank you again for such a wonderful evening of music. Hal

Joy Campo-Decker: "I was absolutely stunned at the incredible performance and master musicians I witnessed... Sat. evening. Bobby Messano was genuinely on top of his game! I have been lucky, over 30 years, to witness such legends as the Dead, the Boss, CSNY, BB King, Ramones, Phoebe Snow, Creedence, ZZ top, and many more- but ...I have to honestly say, Bobby Messano and his band were right up there with other legendary musicians that bring music to its purest and best levels ever! I was honored to have witnessed this..."
