Sniper 66 Biography

Sniper 66 cultivates a brash, hard hitting brand of punk from their home soil in Austin, Texas. Sniper 66 was formed in 2009, by singer/guitarist Dylan Close and bassist Jeff Ellis, later rounded out by guitarist Jeremy Brister and drummer April Schupmann. They play punk, tight and crisp with bullet-paced drums. While giving a nod to the forefathers, they also blend in the fury of 90’s punk. Sniper 66 has continued to put a modern spin on a classic genre of music. Incendiary, invigorating sounds have been distilled to ensure maximum delivery. You can hear bands like Oxymoron, One Way System, Abrasive Wheels, and The Virus weave in and out of these still original sounds. Rock and roll grit fuels tunes like “Firecracker”, and “I Know It’s True” from their breakout self-titled album. Their second, Caput Lupinum, features aggressive and thoughtful tracks like “Another War” and “Society". They released a split 7 inch with Denver's Potato Pirates in early 2016, which features the song "Warrior's Way"...accompanied by a ‘killer’ music video! A european release in 2017 brought a 7" with hit "Bury Me In My Boots" as a teaser to their third full length they recently recorded with Chris Fogal in Denver that is due out in 2018! Their relentless tour schedule has seen them cover the United States a few times over, keeping their fans hungry, always earning new followers along the way. They have played Tulsa's popular Fuck You, We Rule OK! festival in 2013 & 2015, Midwest Live & Loud in 2014, the main stage and a pool party for 2015's Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas, and most recently shared the main stage with GBH and many more at 2016's Rude Fest in St. Louis, and did a tour with Bad Co. Project (ex-Oxymoron) in the northeast United States as part of their larger Stand Your Ground Tour, before playing all over Europe in the fall coupled with an appearance at Munich's Pogorausch Festival. A few flyouts and short tours in 2017 kept the band busy as they wrote and recorded their third LP. This band is showing no signs of slowing down! They are garnering attention in 2018, and will be taking their new album, Annihilator, back across the states and Europe. Sniper 66 is a 4 piece punk rock band from Austin Texas.
