Meadowhawks

While most bands' stories begin in the heart of an urban jungle, Meadowhawks story begins in Upstate NY's wilderness and their sound has never left there. While living in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Ryan MacLean and Dan Vernam recorded what would become the group's eclectic debut EP. The duo sought to marry a love of hook driven indie/garage rock with jazz harmony to form a sound as mammoth as the Catskill Mountains themselves. Released on July 20th 2014, Meadowhawks' debut EP was recorded at Rhinebeck NYs Clubhouse Studios (the room responsible for The National's 'Trouble Will Find Me') and mastered at NYC's Sterling Sound. In the words of music blog The Equal Ground: "Through these four songs the band successfully defines their own sound that will resonate with anyone who has an appreciation for well-written indie pop." The band continued this creative momentum into 2016 by releasing their 2nd EP, "Wild Suburbia," which was recorded at Woodstock NY's Dreamland Studios in 2015. To support the EP MacLean and bassist Dan Vernam embarked on their' first California tour with subsequent east coast dates including a stop at Burlington VTs famous Nectars club. No matter what stage they stomp on or what they create in the studio, Meadowhawks core philanthropy is not only to prove music's colorful vitality, but to propel it into the future.
