J and B productions Biography

At J and B productions, we pride ourselves in bringing the shows that everyone else was too scared to bring. Of course this was the past, but to this day, we still bring in shows that others will not.
We also pride ourselves in allowing the local bands of the surrounding areas (where the show is) open our big shows as much as possible. No one really realises it, but without local acts, no band would exist today. Whether it be Sepultura, Hatebreed, Slayer, Poison the Well, they all started as a LOCAL band and no one seems to understand that anymore in Lubbock.
You have to take pride in the local scene you have. Take a look around Lubbock, no matter what genre, theres a band for you. In the world of hardcore, you have Dead Money; Metalcore, Before The Aftermath; Thrash, Kill or Be Killed; punk, Falling Down Hurts; you cant forget Slo-bula and The Dead See. There are so many local bands and a lot of them never get mentioned. The problem with the Lubbock scene, too much exposure for some. They play too many shows and the scene gets burnt out on them.
Back to the point of this... J and B formed in Winter of the year 2002. Ideas came about and thoughts were jumbled up.Jason Melton and Brandon Stevens both had the same vision, it was just a matter of of other people seeing the vision.
What little things people do not realise, without the local scene, J and B would have never made it this far. People that have been here since before J and B Productions. Our sound engineer at most shows, Tommy Vernon, has been here since Day 1 and before. There are so many people that have contriubted in the past. The local scene always did what they could to bring people to shows and those bands, Melancholy, Chaotic, Syringe, Pardon the Silence, pijn Lust/of graves and gods, indrid cold project/a day to fall, texas death chamber, freak havik, etc. They made J and B productions as far as Lubbock went.
I.R.A.T.E. was the first band that we ever booked, the first band that ever gave J and B Prod a chance. They set the grounds for the future. Without I.R.A.T.E., we would never have booked the shows we have. After I.R.A.T.E. came No One and then following suit was Bleeding Through which was the break through J and B Prod needed. The show made history for the company and helped establish J and B as up and comers.
But it was not a cakewalk getting to where we are now. It took much time and effort and a lot of lost money to get where we are at. We are still in debt to financial backers, aka, family members. People that thinks its all fun and games, we will tell you first hand, no way. Its HARD WORK and DEDICATION. Just like being in a band, hard work.
With hard work came perks, but with perks came setbacks and let downs. But the year of 2007 so far has been triumphant and the World of music is treating J and B well this year. We hope to bring Lubbock and Odessa the best year of Music we possibly can and without you we would not be able to achieve this. So remember, you make J and B productions. So if you have any complaints, compliments or just wish to contact, we encourage you to do so. We appreciate your voice, and with J and B, your opnion matters.

We're all in it for the music, so why can't we all just work together and achieve the same goal?
