//RELEASE - Brutal & Beautiful Based out of São Paulo, Brazil, REPUBLICA is a rock band that has always produced genuine and organic sounds, combining powerful riffs, modern grooves and unique melodic lines. Formed by Leo Belling (vocals), LF Vieira (guitars), Marco Vieira (bass), Jorge Marinhas (guitars) and Mike Maeda (drums), they already participated in the biggest music festivals in the world and the musicians already worked or played alongside of various icons of Brazilian and international music. With the first two albums, “Republica” (Gravadora Eldorado) and “There’s No Electronic Modern Loop” (Deckdisk), the group became a constant presence in the media and in major musical festivals, such as Planeta Atlântida, Salvador, Planeta Terra, Maquinaria (Chile) and Ceará Music, in which they opened concerts of international artists such as The Cult and Deep Purple and shared the stage with Rock heavy weights such as Kiss, Slayer, Stone Sour, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, Cavalera Conspiracy and Marky Ramone, to name a few. In 2012, with the production of the third album, “Point Of No Return” (Wikimetal), produced by three times Grammy Award winner Luis Paulo Serafim, that the history of the band has become more relevant and professional. From then on, the internationalization of REPUBLICA’s work began, and they were invited to participate in the 2013 editions of the Lollapalooza and Rock in Rio festivals. In the first one, they were part of a line-up that featured Pearl Jam, The Killers, The Hives, Black Keys, among others. In the second one, they played the same day as Metallica and Alice in Chains. In the Rock in Rio concert REPUBLICA invited Dr. Sin and the prestigious guitarist and music producer Roy Z, known for works alongside Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Rob Halford, Judas Priest and Sepultura. Roy also participated in the recording of the song “Goodbye Asshole” from the album “Point Of No Return”. This record would still yield many other accomplishments for the band. Rolling Stone magazine chose the track “Change My Way” as the best Heavy Rock song of 2013, and one of the best of the year overall. Also noted “Point Of No Return” 4 of 5 stars Three singles from this album had a lot of radio airplay in the main rock radios of the country (89 FM, KISS FM, Mundo Livre FM). Two videoclips were produced to promote the record PONR, “Life Goes On” and “El Diablo”, and both were launched worldwide by VEVO. These achievements led to a tour of Brazil and Argentina in May 2015, with Adrenaline Mob (USA) and Noturnall. In the same year, REPUBLICA was invited to participate for the second consecutive time in Rock in Rio. They played the same day as Metallica, Mötley Crüe and Korn. The “Point of No Return” tour was quite intense and featured over 70 shows, including opening acts for Megadeth, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Sepultura and Angra and culminated as REPUBLICA being the co-headliner in the first Rolling Stone Festival in December 2016 . As part of the band’s internationalization process, REPUBLICA has just recorded their fourth career album with one of the world’s biggest music producers in the industry, MATT WALLACE, which was responsible for lots of successful albums by bands like Faith No More, Maroon 5, Detones, REM, 3 Doors Down, Train and many others. The band “moved” to Los Angeles for a month to work with Matt on the new album, which was recorded at the SOUND CITY CENTER, where several classic rock albums were produced, such as Metallica, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, Johny Cash, among others. The new album called “Brutal & Beautiful”, has 11 tracks and its release is scheduled for the first half of 2017.
