MeMe Detroit Biography
Self described as Uplift angst, British/Colombian Latina, MeMe Detroit sits somewhere between sleazy grit rock grunge and power indie.
The band consists of MeMe on vocals, guitars & Synth and Kallum McEwen on drums but play out live as a 3 piece. With over 200 gigs under MeMe's belt, they have become known for their high octane, fully immersive shows.
Championed by BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio's Johnny Doom, Janice Long' and Tommy Robinson's Fresh on the Net's Fresh Faves, MeMe and her band are fast gaining traction on the UK music scene and beyond.
"...The only track I’ve had on constant repeat this week! AMAZING!" JFlames - Fresh on the net (Can't get you out of my mind)
"MeMe Detroit bridges the gaps between grunge, indie and Blues rock..." Louder than War
"A fast and furious sonic tour de force, Life in the Now is the riotous antidote we need right now" - GigSoup
"This is the kind of person you get jealous of because they're an incredibly talented singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer..." Janice Long - BBC Radio
“A stirring, visceral return...” Clash
New single ‘Roaring At The Preachers’ out April 28th 2023 on SoulRock Central Records.
