Rumor Town Biography

Jay Eric-guitar/vocals Matthew Aaron-guitar/vocals Bruce "Schleprock" Schwarz-bass/vocals John Thiem-drums/vocals Rumor Town are not new to the music scene, but are coming "Full Circle" - When something “comes full circle,” it completes a cycle, returns to its beginnings. In the early 80's, brothers Jay Eric Pfannstiel and Matt Aaron Pfannstiel along with fellow High School bandmate Bruce Schwarz, started a band called Blieders Creek. Influenced by the Urban Cowbow era and $3 admissions to see George Strait and his Ace In The Hole Band, thought of trying out the music thing themselves, afterall it looked pretty cool. Jump ahead on the TImeline, drummer friend John Thiem is added to the lineup. Opening shows for George Strait, Reba McEntire, Lee Greenwood, Conway Twitty, actually just about every star that came through Texas Dance Hall. The 90's brought personnel changes but the band continues to play. Bruce leaves to pursue other projects and is replaced by Bill Whitbeck (later to become long term bassist for Robert Earl Keen). John later leaves as well to pursue projects of his own. During the next jump in the TImeline the 4 core members still play together at misc. private events while The Blieders Creek Band steams ahead. Soon Jay releases solo album called You Heard It Here First. Opening shows and playing packed dance halls and blah blah blah, yada yada yada and here we are present day. Matt, Bruce and John form Retro Fx, a 70's, 80's and 90's Classic Rock Band. This is sounding good for 3 years running, now let's take it to the next level, Texas style. Have a group that can do it all. Rumor Town plays the best in Country Music, old, new and original. Jay had already dropped the Pfannstiel label and now Matt has followed, hence Jay Eric and Matthew Aaron. Frankly, not too many folk could pronounce, much less spell Pfannstiel anyways. released their 1st EP Tequila's Turn in 2014 with 2 singles and 1 in the Top 100 Texas Regional Radio Chart. Released 2nd CD I Come From Dirt in 2015 with it's first single He's Right Where I Belong hitting the Top 40 and She Needs A Saturday Night follows in January of 2016. So there ya have it. But how can you put all the events, accomplishments, friendship and music experience over 2 1/2 decades in a few paragraphs? , well........ya can't. You just need to see the magic first hand. "It has come Full Circle" Playing Authentic Texas Country Music!!!
