Novatia

NOVATIA is a Dutch rock band that was formed in 2014. With already three EP’s under their belt since their inception and having played over 30 live performances in the past three years, the band have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Their style is inspired by great pop rock acts of the 80’s (such as Journey, TOTO and Foreigner) and has had many favorable reviews in the international music press. Currently, NOVATIA is working on their first full album, to be released in 2019.

The band was founded in 2014 by Joep Selen (vocals), Ingmar Kops (synths) and Rindert Bul (guitars). From the get-go, the objective was to write songs with a strong focus on melody and emotion. They generated a large number of ideas and themes before bringing drummer Joost Lobbes and bass player Fabian van Dijk into the fold to translate these into songs.With this line-up, NOVATIA has released three self-produced EP’s: the debut “Remind you of yourself” in 2015, followed up in 2016 by “Reflection of Thoughts”. The latest release of NOVATIA is the EP “FLOW” which was released end of 2017. Over these years, NOVATIA has created an impressive collection of melodic rock songs that are full of lush synth sounds, energetic guitar riffs and catchy choruses.Although heavily fueled by influences from the 80’s,these songs maintain a modern and unique sound that is always immediately recognizable as NOVATIA. In 2018, bass player Fabian van Dijk left NOVATIA to pursue other interests. After a short search, Reg Schuchner was welcomed into the band.With Reg, the band is currently working on their first full length release: “Discover”.

When playing live, NOVATIA delivers energetic renditions of songs of all their releases as well as several unreleased songs. Since 2015, NOVATIA played over 30 successful liveshows in the Netherlands. Highlights include performances at TivoliVredenburg Utrecht, Parktheater Alphen aan de Rijn, Fluor Amersfoort and the Boerderij Zoetermeer. Currently, the band has full focus on writing and recording the new album, but they will definitely be hitting the stage again later this year!
