About this concert
Two of the most critically acclaimed bands in Industrial music are coming to Nocturne's RED ROOM on October 13th. You will not want to miss the extremely intimate event. KANGA (Negative Gain) https://kangangp.bandcamp.com/ "Kanga wields the power of objectification. Fetish, sexuality, angst, and melancholy take shape, bringing the dark miracle of life to song. Mechanization & melody are made from fragments of Kanga's own flesh and soul to become her objects of creation. Meanwhile, Kanga herself prefers to remain obscured as an artist; not in complete opposition to being an icon but to explore the tension between the cold world of industrial music and the hyper-surreal feminism of pop. Hers is a mirror world where objectification humanizes the object." Encephalon (Artoffact Records) http://www.encephalon.ca/ Encephalon was formed in 2005 in Ottawa, Canada by Alis Alias, Matt Gifford, and Sam Mainer and self-released a number of demos before getting the attention of labels, most notably the German label Dependent (who put out the bands first commercially available track), and Artoffact Records, who released the bands debut, The Transhuman Condition. That record went on to receive album of the year nods on music blog I Die: You Die, who noted that Encephalon are squarely ahead of most of their peers. The Shyness of Strangers (Unknown Pleasures Records) http://theshynessofstrangers.com/ The Shyness of Strangers is Vadim Kristopher, a Polish born Canadian who spends most of his life adrift, but comfortable alone. Exploring sonic landscapes with repetitive themes through corridors of human emotion, loudly. His Deep vocals, reverb soaked guitar and distorted synthesizers are like a fuel you can dance to in the cold. Drawing inspiration from life's more melancholy moments, but deafening the sadness as his music turns the sorrow into celebration. DJ Dark Dave Known to only a select few, this shiw will be the dark magicians coming out party to the Queen St Goths. From post-punk to industrial, with a little whatever thrown in for good measures, Dark Dave animates a dead dancefloor with the choicest classics and freshest new tracks. DOORS AT 10PM 19 Plus with ID $12 in Advance
