Norda Mullen

Norda Mullen is a classically trained musician, performer, and recording artist who resides, teaches, and performs in the UK, as well as touring the world with the English classic rock group, The Moody Blues.

She was born in the Southern region of the United States spending her childhood in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Ms Mullen earned her Flute Performance Degree from Northwestern University, in Chicago, Illinois.

During her time there, she studied with Walfrid Kujala, former piccolo player for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Prior to that, she spent four summers at the Interlochen National Music Camp, where she studied with Alexander Murray, former principal flutist with the Royal Opera in London, followed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
During Norda's four years at Interlochen, she was the recipient of several prestigious flute scholarships and awards.

In addition to a very busy private teaching practice, Norda's background also includes a successful studio career in Los Angeles, where she recorded on major film scores including Jurassic Park 2, The Matrix Trilogy, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Sea Biscuit, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Cars, among others, as well as hundreds of national TV and radio commercials.
She is also featured on Randy Newman’s 2008 album, Harps and Angels.

Since 2002, Norda has performed, recorded and toured worldwide with 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees, the English rock group, The Moody Blues.

She currently resides in London, UK, with her husband and two dogs Billie and Lola.
