Simon Quigley | The Composer
From Santry in Dublin; Simon Quigley has had a long and interesting career as a pianist and composer, since his time as a founding member of successful indie group Sack, to recording and performing with numerous well-known Irish artists including Camille O’Sullivan, Briana Corrigan (Ex Beautiful South) and Dave Couse (Ex A House) whom he did two solo projects, including “The World Should Know” nominated as best Irish Album.
Lauded for his ‘keyboard wizardry’, he has also composed for documentaries and television series for RTÉ. With musical influences ranging from Kraftwerk to Arvo Pärt, Steve Reich and Michael Nyman, he released his first solo EP Ireland Is released in Spring 2011 to critical acclaim, a contemporary classical journey through times and places with Poet Colm Keegan and songwriter Mark Cullen (Pony Club).
He Launched "The Human Tide" in 2016 at the National Concert Hall with his ensemble and "Crimson Gown" at Skerries Soundwaves 2017 Festival. He is currently working on a solo modern classical project with several well know performers including Martin McCann, Clare Kavanagh, Lioba Petrie (Cello) and Una O'Kane (Violin) and singer songwriter Fiach Moriarty whom he produced the album "The Revolution" released in 2015.
