BREAKAWAY

Break Away were a four piece punk rock band from Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Formed out of the ashes of local punk rock faves 37 Slurp and Go Real Slow. They hit the scene in 2003 with a self-titled ep and national tour all within months of starting the band. Another EP titled "A Struggle Already In Motion" saw release in 2004.The band kept true to their DIY roots and rented a house and holed up there to self record their first LP "Malaga" which saw release in January 2006. After 4 years as a band, the strains started to creep in and Break Away called it quits, playing a final show in Philadelphia on Jan 14 2007.

Break Away's sound was a melodic and cathcy mix of punk, metal and later on a mature, almost indie rock sound.
