Faustino Díaz

Faustino Diaz is the first latinamerican trombonist to win an International Trombone Competition (Jeju Korea, 2013); he also was a finalist in the “Citta di Porcia” International Competition in Italy in 2011. Faustino is also the three time winner of the National Brass Competition in Mexico. Back in his native Mexico, Mr. Diaz held principal positions with the National Symphony Orchestra, Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra and the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, the most important ensembles in the country. Faustino attended the National Conservatory of Mexico, the Rotterdam Conservatory and the Lausanne Conservatory where his main teachers were Benjamin Alarcon, Jorgen van Rijen and Jacques Mauger respectively. Faustino Diaz is a trombone and trumpet Courtois Artist since 2012 and has been invited to give recitals and masterclasses in France, the US, Switzerland, Colombia, the Netherlands among others.
