Feel the full intensity of the Oscar-winning film "Birdman" as percussionist Antonio Sanchez performs his critically acclaimed score onstage while the dark comedy is projected on the screen behind him. Written and performed by the renowned jazz percussionist, the score received accolades for its wildly spontaneous and organic sound. Winning Oscars for Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay and Cinematography, the movie follows a faded Hollywood star (Michael Keaton), famous for playing a movie superhero, in his attempt to mount a Broadway play that he hopes will reinvigorate his failing career. With a supporting cast that includes Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis and Emma Stone, "Birdman" is a kinetic film experience that plays like a single, continuous sequence of events, with Sanchez's drums supplying the energy and drive that underlines the emotional weight of the story and perfectly expresses the restless, desperate intensity of the characters. See this one-of-a-kind concert at The Neptune in Seattle.

This concert gets 5 stars from me. I don’t know why the 5th star won’t fill completely. Antonio is thee master drummer of our time. His brilliant timing and mastery of his instruments almost leaves the watcher/listener breathless. I love all the surprises he bestows on his audience, and together with Pat Metheny, their musical interludes just blow the listener away. WOW!!!!!
