Connor Low Music Biography

I first picked up a guitar when I was 9. Before I was born, my parents bought a Fender American Made Strat, thinking "Maybe he'll learn to play it!" And, I did. My older cousin ,who knew how to play a little guitar, stayed with us for a while and brought an acoustic guitar with him. I would sit by him in AWE while he played, and I just had to learn to do that. So we started off with simple riffs: Smoke on the water, Frankenstein, etc. It was so fun I wanted to learn more and I got online and came across one of the awesomest people I know, Marty Schwartz. If you don't know who he is, he is an amazing guitarist and teacher that does guitar lesson videos on youtube. Just look up "martysongz" and "guitarjamzdotcom" So I watched as many videos as I could and I learned more and more songs. I showed my Mom what I had been learning from Marty on youtube and she decided I was serious and dedicated so we found a really great friend and musician named Brain Sowinski to start giving me some guitar lessons. He helped me learn Sweet Child O'Mine for my 4th grade talent show. I couldn't get enough and kept learning song after song. That summer I was honored to get a scholarship to go to this amazing Rock N Roll Camp called CAMP JAM. I met so many talented kids and great musicians and one of my greatest teachers too-David Ferrara. I even met and got to play guitar with Richard Fortus from Guns N Roses. I was hooked! Camp Jam is also where I met a really amazing guitarist and now one of my greatest influences and friends named Sam Koltun. He had actually raised money for the scholarship that I received. The next month, My Uncle Jerry and his band Trixie Delight ( The amazing Kelly Wild :) asked me to play with them at The Festival Of The Little Hills!!! I got to play Guns N Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine". It was such an honor and truly one of the most incredible experiences to get to play with such talented musicians for 1000's of people! I then got another huge opportunity to play with a great band called Dr Zhivegas. I played Van Halen's "You Really Got Me". It was so amazing! So I was 10 years old and ready to be a Rock Star.... luckily my friend Sam included me to play with him out whenever he could , and then I found some local open mics and jams to play at too. Some of my favorites are Sunday Night Jam, Roadhouse 61 Jams, Mozingo Jams. All of these things have helped me meet and play with incredibly amazing people all over St. Louis! I feel so blessed to have such great opportunities and I have been so Encouraged , Welcomed, and Respected by everyone I get to play with. I have also joined our Churches worship band too. I am so blessed to be able to share and enjoy the gift of Music. I've had the opportunity to meet some of the worlds GREATEST guitarists EVER, Tommy Emmanuel and Eric Johnson! I have so many more that I hope to meet in the future. I play all over St. Louis anywhere I can with incredibly amazing people! I have met some wonderful teachers, mentors and supporters! I am so thankful to all of them!!! I am following my Dream!!! Thanks SO much for all of the support!
