Still Standing

Growing up as the twin sons of seminal guitarist Tony Santoro, Justin and Johnny naturally inherited the family trait. Born and raised in Philadelphia, the brothers began writing and playing music together as their talents began to unfold. In 1998 they met Alex Zarzycki, a drummer with a skill set and passion for music that matched their own. With Justin on Bass/ Lead Vocals and Johnny (AKA” Johnny Five) on Guitar/ Vocals, the trio began spreading its wings at the center of a growing punk rock scene, performing any show that they possibly could. They developed a prowess for live shows that has become their calling card that translated into being able to deliver performances beyond their years. After establishing a strong regional fan base and creating a buzz, they caught the eyes and ears of a well-respected producer, Tommy Henriksen. The band decided it was time to make the move to Los Angeles to record their music. Tommy and the band produced a six song EP, which drew the attention of song writer and producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Buck Cherry, Papa Roach). They hit it off immediately and agreed to have Marti produce and record their full-length record. Through this relationship and recordings, and with Frederiksen’s insight and guidance, Still Standing evolved their music into a powerful and lyrical direction. The construction of the new recordings has been some of the finest well produced music that Frederiksen and Still Standing has written. The bands live performances are as impressive, full-bodied sounding and explosive as the recording sessions. They continue to gain fans as they work the western region of California, Nevada, Idaho and others in venues such as the House of Blues, the Viper Room, the Slide Bar and the 2010 NAMM Convention to name a few. An alternative trio geared to tour the world.
