Every couple of months The Galleons host some of their favourite acts from Brighton and beyond at Brighton's finest small venue. The intention is always to offer a diverse range of music that represents the best touring acts on the ciruit today and this line up is the epitomy of this! Rather than one band after the other each act will do two shorter sets in each half resulting we think in a more exciting evening for the audience.

Abi Wade is a musical collaboration between limbs, strings and vocal chords. The cello is the backbone to her songs, however, the Brighton based musician is no ordinary solo act and uses her instrument in a unique way; using it as a percussive instrument; hitting it with sticks and beaters while plucking and bowing it, often simultaneously. In addition to playing the cello in this unconventional manner, she also sings and uses a cajon and tambourine on each foot to become the ultimate one woman band.

So far she has toured the UK & Europe with Patrick Wolf, played festivals such as End of The Road, The Great Escape and Wilderness, sold out her debut EP, released music on the label set up by Esben & The Witch's Daniel Copeman.

Patch and The Giant are a hug of a band they envelope you with sound, sometimes the hug is happy sometimes it's sad we suggest you just stick your arms out and enjoy it. Regulars may recognise Nick Edward Harris and Angie Rance from their line up as they wowed us at a recent Lonely Disco!

"This is such a fabulous band to see live. This London 6 piece will melt your heart with their flowing ballads. They spend the summer playing every festival that they could and seem to be happiest in a field, covered in mud drinking scotch from the bottle." - My Time London

Your hosts The Galleons are an indie-folk band who through their melodic and inventive songwriting have become firm favourites on the UK gig and fesitval circuit. They will be continuing to create new sounds and reinterpret old as they work with a new lineup and new ideas. Expect some old songs as well as new and definitely expect something different, perhaps with a surprise collaborator thrown into the mix for good measure.
