Every couple of months The Galleons ask the finest acts they've come across from Brighton and beyond to join them for a gig at Brighton and Hove's finest small venue.

From his teenage years travelling round Europe, living in a tent and busking to make his way, Michael Baker has worked tirelessly to develop his songwriting and performance skills. After studying at the world renowned ACM school he recorded his debut album working with Dan Brown and Ben Christophers (Massive Attack, Phantom Limb, Bat For Lashes and Guy Garvey). Michael's is a singer songwriter with an ear for melody and delicate touch that bely the power and depth in his work.

Jack Hogarth is a brilliant singer songwriter nurtured in the musical hotbed that is Whitby in Yorkshire. Now based in London he continues to impress with his understated but impressive guitar playing, perfectly poised vocal delivery and a sound that can move from silky smoothness to raw intensity in a way that leaves audiences breathless.

The Galleons will be playing their first gig without their other lead singer Beth who has gone to Helsinki. This has prompted much head scratching and the band have decided that rather than try to do the same as before minus an important part, they need to create something different and fresh whilst retaining some songs and ideas that they love from the past. this may take a while but please come and check out how the journey is going!
