Overweight

Overweight is a fivepiece skapunk band from Belgium which started originally as a punkrock band back in 2001. Later on, the 5 piece evolved into a skapunk band when a horn section was introduced. After two well-received demos (What we call paradise – Back to life with a hangover) and some line-up changes, the band recorded its first full-length with ten catchy skapunk tracks! ‘The world for sale’, which was released in 2009, resulted in a bunch of shows in Belgium and abroad. Overweight set stages on fire in Holland, France and went on tour through the UK 3 times. After two busy years, the band felt the time right for another record. With a new drummer, the EP ‘Chapter 11’ was recorded in 2011. 3 years filled with lots of concerts, booze and 2 tours to Eastern Europe and the Baltic states, resulted into their new full album “Back to the 90s” in october 2014. With this album, released through 2K10 records on CD and LP, Overweight wants to put a new standard into ska-punk music. Their first videoclip (I'm not amused) was released and received well. New plans are being made to play more shows and more tours. Overweight already had the honour of sharing the stage with bands such as Voodoo Glow Skulls, Big D And The Kids Table, Mark Foggo’s Skasters, The JB Conspiracy, P.O. Box, Peter Pan Speedrock, de Heideroosjes, Stand Out Riot, Jet8, F.O.D. and many, many more.. Overweight already set stages on fire in Belgium, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and Latvia.
