Get Along Biography

Get Along is the musical alias of Nicholas and Cara Yañez. Their quirky take on electronic instruments, punk rock enthusiasm, and soul music create a novel sound – one with a subtle maturity for a couple of twenty-somethings. Cara’s classically trained voice packs a punch, leading an energetic pace set by her husband’s thumping beats and synth heavy melodies. The duo has a knack for venturing into different realms of sound to reflect their feelings of love, loss, frustration, and life as aspiring artists. US Represented agrees, telling readers that “although they are classified as ‘indie’ (the band) have such a breadth of techniques that classifying them is difficult”; and The Independent calls Get Along “One of the most original bands to come out of the Front Range”. The bands authentic take on music isn’t left to the studio, however, offering an energetic and unpredictable live show. The Scene offers up this summation "The two contrasting sounds meshed together like Yin and Yang, creating a sense of serenity within an adrenaline filled background. Both Cara and Nick jumped around with such energy that the audience had no choice but to join them”. Get Along looks to share their music with the masses; which would cause a lot of jumping. Exercise is good.

Get Along has shared the stage with acts such as Blondfire, Churchill,
Civil Twilight, Man Man, The Mowgli's, The Features, Gold Fields, The Octopus Project, The Unlikely Candidates, and more...
