Dina Maccabee

Dina Maccabee's solo viola/voice repertoire stems from her life-long pursuit of classical, folk, and improvisatory approaches to her instrument; a keen sense of concise and poignant songwriting and direct, unaffected singing; and a talent for hooking audiences while defying their expectations. Her current interest in electronic processing has added depth, space, and complexity to her already warm and inviting string and vocal sounds. Currently the violist/backup vocalist for internationally renowned artist Julia Holter, Dina has also toured extensively since 2003 with Carla Bozulich, Vienna Teng, Feist, Ramon & Jessica, and Real Vocal String Quartet, and she has been performing solo or as bandleader throughout the West Coast, Midwest, and Northeastern U.S. since 2010. New solo album out August, 2017.

Janel Leppin

Janel is a talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who for American God returns to her preferred instrument, the cello, to make an album that is beguiling, introspective, thoughtful, and highly atmospheric. Using a combination of the cello, often multi-tracked, or looped, or put through various effects pedals, along with subtle use of electronica makes for a heady and unusual mix, resulting in swirls of ambient semi-acoustic psychedelia. (From Roger Trenwith's review of her latest album:
