Catt McCreary Biography

Delivering a fresh crossover of Pop & RnB to the next generation of pop, Catt McCreary has cemented herself as a multi instrumentalist, songwriter, artist, and producer with hot girl anthems and spicy, feel good music. ‘Bad Bitch Energy’, fondly compared to iconic pop/hip-hop artists like Doja Cat and Ariana Grande by YMX, is her latest bop with a sparkly, Y2K Barbie meets 2022 girl power vibe.

Growing up in Atlanta, she was exposed to training in multiple genres and instruments as well as performing with notable legends such as Jon Batiste, band leader for Stephen Colbert. Crediting her unique style, The Honey Pop says Catt "offers interesting sounds that interweave" and "demonstrates her ability to mix in all of her influences...into the direction of pop music". McCreary’s innate abilities for crafting brain-staining hooks, double entendres, and broad vocal range developed her identity as the charismatic, spicy, and upbeat pop star in the recording booth, on stage, and in writing sessions.

Releasing her first official single release and music video ‘Home’ in 2014, in just a short couple of years, Catt had performed widely around Atlanta, GA. Showcasing her own bands, her original music, and her fierce vocal chops in her high school’s Duke Ellington Band Jazz Ensemble and at her own shows, she began to grow her loyal fan base. North bound by Fall 2016, McCreary chose Nashville’s Belmont University to embiggen her songwriting, production, and business skills.

It was in Nashville writing rooms that she began accumulating a catalog of empowering anthems. Eager to sonically merge the lines between her loves for pop, soul, and hip hop, she stepped up her game –– running production sessions, engineering her own vocals, and tracking beats. The Honey Pop calls McCreary "the real deal. Her music reminds us of the vibes we get from artists like Tate McRae and Olivia O’Brien.” Ranking today on the YouTube charts with her favorite artists, like Cardi B, Ariana Grande, and Doja Cat, McCreary is surely a name to be on the lookout for in 2024’s rising pop scene.
