Woodley Range Biography
Keith Oliver provides vocals and multiple instruments for Woodley Range. Instruments includes
guitar, dobro, banjo and harmonica. His musical inspirations are taken from the blues, folk and the
classic rock genres. Musical expression via the variable tonality and pitch from slide guitar and
harmonica, he finds to be most rewarding.
Nick Dokter on drums and vocals started his musical career in South Africa at the tender age of 14,
quickly becoming a sought after session player. He continued his studio work in London at PYE Studio
where he rubbed shoulders with Ronnie Wood, Arthur Brown and Van Morrison. Nick carried on his
session work upon arrival in Canada working with the Juno nominated Richard Stepp Band, Oliver and
the Elements and Jimmy D Lane.
Gary Anderson on guitar and vocals along with some guitalele and mandolin. Gary started in the folk
scene in the late 60's in Vancouver. In the 70's he played bass in a few road cover bands in the west
ending up playing guitar in the New Wave-Punk scene for the Dick Twacy Band in the late 70's. Burnt
out from the road and the biz he quit playing for several years until the late 80's and help start the NDR
Band, an all original band fronted by talented song writer Peter Curley. Seizing on an opportunity to
play and record with pro's again after moving to the Vancouver Island he helped form the Woodley
Range Band and started recording with Ron Obvious at the controls.
