Lee Terrace Biography
Lee Terrace is one of the essential progressive rock experiences of the Upstate New York music community. Carefully crafted compositions and electrifying live improvisation make the band’s studio work and live show music that can’t be missed.
Formed in 2007 by Kevin Metzger (guitar, vocals) and Mike Sloan (keys, bass, vocals), the band has since evolved into something greater than the sum of its parts. The additions of PJ Sweeney (drums) and Ian Doherty (keys, vocals) helped shape the band into a solid artistic unit as they explored a range of styles, from the pop-like sensibilities of turn-of-the-millennium alternative rock to the epic visions of classic ’70s prog rock. In everything they play, the distinct, vibrant personalities of each player shine through, and now with an expanded lineup, the tapestry they weave has become fuller and richer in color.
Lee Terrace has had the privilege of playing with a variety of national and regional acts, including Tim Reynolds, The Radiators, Jeff Austin, TAUK, The Heavy Pets, Perpetual Groove, Dynamo, U-Melt, Kung Fu, Zach Deputy, Mister F, and Aqueous. With three studio albums and an ever-growing catalog of original music and covers, the band is excited to return after a two-year hiatus to show the world they still “know a thing or three about rock ‘n’ roll with heart” (Mark Bialczak, Syracuse Post Standard).
