Pryti Biography
"Pryti is determined to expand metal’s horizons and confound gatekeepers, sitting in great company among the Scene Queens, Zands and carolesdaughters of the world” - Metal Hammer
“Gleaming keys and soaring vocals tugging at the soul like a haunted plea” - Metal Hammer (7/10)
“Bringing a fresh dose of imagination to the alternative scene” – Rock Sound
“a fantastic second album that sees Pryti show off her powerhouse vocals.” - Distorted Sound (9/10)
Pryti is a British Indian singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist hailing from the home of metal, Birmingham releasing her music on her label Welcome To Pariahville.
In 2013 Pryti embraced that ethos and released her debut ep Welcome To Pariahville which scored her first review in Kerrang by Sam Carter (Architects). Her debut LP Tales of a Melancholic would follow in 2015, receiving critical acclaim in the UK and USA with praise from Rocksound, Powerplay, Hit the Floor, New Noise, Cryptic Rock and many more. These releases fully embraced the doom and heaviness of metal, while her latest songs, recorded with Pryti’s longtime producer Justin Hill (Sikth, Young Guns, Heart of a Coward), draw from that world but also incorporate more aesthetics from alt-rock, indie rock and electronica.
Pryti’s latest release Searching for Now, Lost in Again features music with elements of alternative rock, metal and indie electronica, with influences ranging from Now Now, Halsey and PVRIS to Emma Ruth Rundle and Chelsea Wolfe. Earning rave reviews from Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Distorted Sound.
