About this concert
With its bizarre brew of eroticism and religion, Richard Strausss Salome was so disturbing when it first appeared that it was banned in Vienna and London. Today, its lost none of its power to send shivers through the audience, and this production eerily captures all the depravity of King Herods court in ancient Jerusalem. Starring as the princess whose sexually charged dance leads straight to her own destruction is Melody Moore, the dynamic soprano who has electrified the operas of Janácek, Wagner, and Puccini. Come see Salome cast her potent spell over South Florida. Each program is accompanied by a pre-show lecture an hour before curtain with a talk-back session immediately following the performance. Child limit is 6 years old.

Salomé (born June 21, 1943), born Maria Rosa Marco, is a Spanish Catalan singer.
Salomé was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At the Eurovision Song Contest held in Madrid in 1969, she performed "Vivo Cantando", composed by Maria José Cerato with words by Aniano Alcalde. The song (along with the entries from Netherlands, United Kingdom, and France) shared first place that year.
Salomé recorded "Vivo Cantando" in 1969 for the Eurovision Song Contest in eight languages (Spanish, Catalan, Basque, French, German, Italian, English, and Serbo-Croat).
The B-side to "Vivo Cantando" was "Amigos, Amigos" which came in 2nd at the Spanish National Final in 1969.
Salomé appeared on TVE in May 2006, after the Eurovision Song Contest, to discuss the outcome with 1968 winner, Massiel, and a few other friends.
