Details Castle - Metal Band comes to Small's on their Endless Graveyard U.S. Tour with very special guests Her Dark Host, Wild Savages and Cruthu 8 p.m. doors / 9 p.m. show / $8 in advance and $10 at the door / 18+ S M A L L ' S - B A R 10339 Conant, Hatmramck CASTLE was forged in San Francisco in 2009 and released their debut full-length, In Witch Order, on Germany’s Ván Records in 2011. The album brought light to the newly-formed band and earned them “Album Of The Year” honors from Metal Hammer Norway, as well as Roadburn Festival’s “Newcomer Of The Year.” Shortly thereafter, the band joined the Prosthetic Records roster in North America and released their critically-adored sophomore album Blacklands. The record left to a Canadian JUNO nomination for “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year.” CASTLE performed over two-hundred shows worldwide in support of the release alongside the likes of The Sword, Conan, Intronaut and Pentagram among many others as well as appearances at some of the underground’s largest fests including Roadburn and the London and Berlin Desertfests.

Dark. Primal. Real. For ages, metal fans have been hoodwinked by Satanic pretenders peddling their cut rate wares. True demonical blasphemous rock and roll is a rare quantity these days. For those seeking to do more than feel the darkness-Her Dark Host. Each performance is truly ritual. Primal, funereal. The charnel stench lingers in the air as the altar they prepare before each show begins to glow. This is no pig's head on a pike gimmick either. Justin, the coven's vocalist and leader, takes his dark faith seriously. His brooding, demonic gaze upon the crowd is cold and unsettling. The aura projected is pure black and bathed in nihilism. Their sound is born of the majestic tradition of bands like Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Danzig, and more. That evil expansive sound that transports you to other worldly places that you may never return from. Colder than cemetary soil with lyrical hymns to ancient gods and goddesses with names long unspoken by human tongue. If you're truly ready to sell your soul for rock n roll you're unlikely to find a more worthy contender. -T.
