About this concert
KVÖLDVAKA is a unique experience to get to know Icelandic culture and folklore through an energetic hour of new and exciting arrangements of Icelandic folk music. KVÖLDVAKA is a theatrical concert that mixes together old Icelandic folk tales and new arrangements of Icelandic folk songs with a modern twist. In Kvöldvaka the audiences are taken back in time to 18th century “Kvöldvaka” in Iceland, where the people of the household came together, told stories, sung and made handiwork before they went to bed.
