Cocoa Sarai Music Biography
Fresh off of a world tour with Aftermath’s Anderson .Paak, Cocoa Sarai is here to stay. Raised by a musical family, to Jamaican/ American Parents, this Brooklyn NY native's cultural mashup of her West Indian heritage, church roots and hip-hop would shape a fresh new sound. Singing since the age of 2, Cocoa is not only a songwriter but a dynamic performer and engineer in a lane all her own.
Cocoa has written and worked with Grammy-winning artists and producers such as Dr. Dre, Anderson Paak, Busta Rhymes, Dem Jointz and more. Her talents have even led her into TV and Film working with prestigious names such as Lee Daniels.
With 3 independent albums under her belt, the most recent one all mixed and mastered herself, Cocoa has amassed a loyal NYC following that would land her on the FOX TV show “The Four” judged by music’s biggest stars such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Dj Khaled, Charlie Walk, Meagan Trainor, and Fergie. In the same year, she would meet and work with legendary producer Dr Dre and move to California, working directly with Aftermath Records where she would meet superstar Anderson .Paak. Singing and/or writing on 8 of the 14 Songs on his album OXNARD and on VENTURA, one of which she featured rapping (Mansa Musa w/ Dr. Dre). She is currently splitting her time between touring, songwriting and finishing her upcoming project. Cocoa has vehemently coined the phrase #EarnYoSleep and she is indeed doing just that!
