Tori Hathaway Biography

Tori Hathaway is a remarkable Canadian singer and performer with the ability to engage audiences with her exuberant personality and astounding talent. She is a dedicated, hard-working professional – she lives, eats, breathes and sleeps music, writes songs and plays several instruments. She is creating an authentic new country sound drawing on influences from Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Reba and Kira Isabella. "I was impressed that as a very young singer, Tori radiated and element of excitement and passion for music that is often missing in those much older." Jack Latimer, Program Director – KICX 106 FM, (Orillia, ON). September 2013 “I met Tori at the CCMA weekend in Edmonton last year. She is a pleasant down–to-earth girl who has surrounded herself with a very supportive team. She writes her own songs, and is not afraid to perform in any situation.” Cal Gratton, Program Director/Music Director/Host – XM105FM and Music Director 105 CJVR, (Whitecourt, AB). October 2013 In September, Tori jumped aboard a plane to join in the celebration of the CCMA’s in Edmonton, AB. Selected to perform in the “Diamonds in the Rough” showcase, she delivered two of her songs from the July EP release. When asked what inspired her most about the CCMA’s the singer is unusually tounge-tied. Her ultimate response, “Too many wonderful experiences to choose from, and too many fantastic people that I met there, to select only one.” Her favourite memory is a little easier to discern, “When they played Don’t Lie To Me for the entire audience at the Rexall Centre during the broadcast pre-show I got goosebumps. That was totally amazing!” Upon her return to Toronto, Tori put all that creative inspiration to work, and soon after penned “Christmas Without You” which she finished with her producer and co-writer, Douglas Romanow in time to record the first single for Roar Records Inc. She speaks excitedly about the process from start to finish with a youthful enthusiasm that is contagious. “Hearing my song on the radio was totally thrilling”, says Hathaway, “I started jumping up and down and screaming until I realized I couldn’t hear the radio anymore.” Shortly after, she attended the Jewel 88.5 FM to chat about the song, and delivered a live interview with Gary and Sara which belies her tender age of fourteen. “Thanks so much for…the chance to speak to Tori and play her music [on Fresh Music Friday ] We got a really great response from our listeners!” Nancy MacKinnon, Host - Fresh Music Fridays on 93.3FM (Settler, AB). September 2013 Tori also gives back. At age thirteen she raised over $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity-Huronia, producing a two-hour live variety show featuring her own original music, two guest-artists and a five-piece band. Tori engaged over 60 new volunteers and sponsors, and highlighted the brand new City of Barrie theatre. Smart, out-going, funny and down-to-earth, Tori is the sister with whom you love to hang out; the daughter with whom you share a sundae; your BFF who will keep all your secrets safe. Professional memberships include SOCAN, SAC, NSAI and CMAO and CCMA. Tori Hathaway is an unsigned, independent Canadian artist. Passion, Talent, Determination - Traits that shape 17 year old Ontario rising star, Tori Hathaway.
