Renegades, gangstas, ecolutionaries who is in the mood for some cultural appreciation? Gangsta Gardner, Ron Finley continues cultivating community at the 3rd annual Da FUNction. Ron Finley is an artist, gardening his graffiti. He grows his art, the soil his canvas. His work with The Ron Finley Project is a tool of transformation--planting food forests around the world, driven by the awareness that collectively we are the soil. Ron Finley believes the problem is the solution and gardening to be the most therapeutic and defiant act we can do. South Central Los Angeles is far more than a food desert, it's a community of engaged + joyful folks ready for an eco-lution. So come kick it at this free event designed for people of all ages to have as much FUN as possible. Rain doesn’t stop this SHINE. The party will be live 10a - 5p Saturday 6/24 at Vermont Square Library 1201 W. 48th St., Los Angeles. Gardens build community. Dr. Ietef "DJ Cavem" Vita the O.G. (organic Gardener) is an eco-hip hop artist, educator and vegan chef from Denver. His songs are about climate change, food justice and eating healthy. He's performed at the White House​ and has been featured in Oprah Magazine and on the Rachael Ray Show. His latest album BIOMIMICZ was released as a seed pack to spur listeners into action.
