Doors open: 08:00 Spero’s third Sessions show features Joshua Asante (Amasa Hines, Velvet Kente) performing solo with Yuni Wa opening the show. Show begins at 8 PM with a $7 cover. ABOUT OUR JUNE SESSIONS CURATOR Correne Spero (aka Spero to friends) moved to Little Rock in 2010 from New York City where she released three albums and toured for a decade with her band Northern State. Spero plays in two Little Rock bands, SPERO and DOT, and has been putting the finishes touches on an album recorded with a bunch of talented Little Rock folks. Spero is also a member of 6-girl supergroup “Lucky Bitch” and will be facilitating a girls’ songwriting camp in Little Rock this summer. ABOUT JOSHUA ASANTE Musician, photographer, a sometimes poet; art informs most aspects of Joshua Asante’s life. Joshua is a guitarist and lead vocalist for two bands, Velvet Kente and Amasa Hines. The latter of two released their first full-length album, All The World There Is, to widespread critical acclaim in early 2014. Whether he is behind a camera lens or onstage with a band, or even alone a poet; the aim remains the same. Clarity, positivity, and ascension through art. ABOUT YUNI WA Yuni Wa started rapping and writing at age 12 and began producing at 14. In 2014, Yuni Wa released "WA", and in 2015 he released 13 projects, including DATA_OUR PROGRAM IS FOREVER.
