Shady Sister Biography
"Shady Sister is an up and coming band cutting through the static with ear piercing, high-energy performances, compounding the styles of punk, blues, and roots-rock all into one tireless, face melting mess. Formed in Nashville, TN by Mike DeBenedictis [Guitar/Vocals], Dave Matthews [Drums], & Dylan Ballard [Bass]. At a Shady Sister show, one never knows what is going to happen; from flying guitars, spilled beer, stage trashing, or the occasional instrument swap.
Their debut album "No Good" likes to break the boundaries of the recording process. Tunes like “Second Guesses” and “No Good” reaffirm their pop sensibility, while others like “Always the Same” and “Pumped Up (Have Some Fun)” hearken to the skate-punk days of Black Flag and Agent Orange. The album bends the possibilities and the expectations of what should be heard on a modern rock album, and is having no problem shaking things up. Overall, the raw honesty that the band pushes upon the listener is unlike anything in recent years. Catch them at your local dive bar or buddy’s basement while you can and have some fun." - Larry David
