Anthony (Mordechai Tzvi) Russell Biography
Twelve years after making his professional operatic debut in the world premiere of Appomattox by Philip Glass, Anthony (Mordechai Tzvi) Russell is now a vocalist, composer and arranger specializing in Yiddish song. This work has brought him to stages in Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, New York, Tel Aviv, London, Berlin, Warsaw and Krakow, Symphony Space in New York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Anthony has recently released an EP with klezmer trio Veretski Pass called Convergence, combining a century of African-American and Ashkenazi Jewish music.
