The Welkin Dim Biography
In 2012, The Welkin Dim began as a studio project between Adam, who was living just outside of Portland, and Kodiak, who was living just outside of Phoenix. The goal was to write and release an album, a goal they came very close to completing.
Until they needed a drummer.
When Adam met Leo and asked him to record for the record, he realized he had met more than a studio drummer. He had met a performer who needed to be in front of a live audience.
Through the process of working through the transition from studio to live, there was quite a lot of turmoil that led to the necessity to move on to different and through different guitarists.
Enter Kyle and Mike.
For the next year, the band would attack the music scene from Seattle to Medford. Their frenetic live performances garnered quite a lot of local attention and admiration.
After having hit the road and stage hard, the demands of a gigging band and the at home needs of family and work led to a tough decision for both Leo and Mike.
Kyle and Adam went about the task of finishing the long awaited album and continued to write and perform. It wasn't long until they found a drummer with the same drive and passion that they both carried. Ben joined the band shortly after the release of their album, Learning to Relent, and now fills the fulltime position of drummer as they work on their next album and tour.
